Whittier AK Campground and Lodging

Whittier AK CampgroundWhittier Alaska Public Campground
Public camping is available in an area located off Glacier Avenue above the boat launch in Whittier. To access the campground, after passing through the Whittier Tunnel, continue on into town and as you cross the bridge over Whittier Creek you turn right on Whittier Street and continue across the railroad tracks then follow around to the left along the tracks past the boat launch parking area and city park to Glacier Street. Turn right and continue up the hill to the entrance to the campground.

Although the campground is not paved and limited in amenities, the scenery is spectacular and the setting truly Alaskan. Some of the sites have picnic tables and some border on the creek. All campsites offer a great view of the mountains, glaciers and waterfalls and many have views of the marina and town located just below. Everything is within easy walking distance of the campground.
